We just use gaffers tape:

does not look very professional, could have been designed better !!!!
Why not make a kind of chamber where you can slide the foil in in front of the leds?
Change that big plug in something else it all looks like home made (no offence intended).

I'm a film guy just getting into video, so having an "on camera" light is new for me. Any recomendations on kits, brands, ect. Client wants to shoot in a club, "Wild on E!" style is the only way I can think to describe it, so I'll be all over the place. Thanks
 
Do a search also. There have been lots of discussions on this. People seem to like litpanels and vidled for leds for softness and long life. Anton/Bauer also has a new on camera light. Good luck.

I love my VidLED, but for shooting in a club you may want to rethink your camera if you are shooting with HVX. It does not like the dark and people in clubs despise the light. Been there done that, for E! in fact. I had to opt for a 2/3" camera with better light sensitivity, and use the light sparingly.
I also use the Lightpanel, great light as well, just not quite as much bang for the buck.

Any recommendations for a good on camera light?

Also what's the best method for mounting multiple accessories on the camera? I'm a fairly good fabricator and was thinking of making something, but I figure I might see what's out there before I reinvent the wheel.

The Vidled light is very popular around here. We are Vidled partners and a dealer of theirs ONLY for the simple fact that they are the best for the price range that they are in.

For other hardware Zacuto is a great place to start. I know alot of guys and gals around here use Noga arms too.

I bought the Vidled light from Spec-Com and its great. Its built like a tank and works great.

Hey everybody,

I have a job coming up where I have to do camera on a high society party. I am basicely walking around with someone who does interviews with people attending the party. The party is going to be dark so an on camera light is neccecery. I did a search and couldn't find a good topic about this. Which one is the best for this kind of situations and what is your expierences with on camera light. Next to that, I don't want to blind people with the light and I have a tight budget. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

The "Zylight" supposed to be the best LED available. No gels and all the colour you want just by turning a knob !!! Unfortunately not avaible yet in Europe.
