Odyssey7 & Odyssey7Q Status Update

Hi Mitch,

Are you guys able to make any progress on the audio sync with Davinci Resolve for the CDNG clips that you record with the 7Q? I have to manually link the audio and video daily and it would be a huge time saver if there was a way to have them sync up more automatically. There was some discussion of this a few pages back...

Is this with all versions of Premiere Pro?

EDIT:

I see that it may be specific to a newer version of Premiere Pro and tied to 32 bit. I assume the 32 bit issue is the audio is processed as 32 bit. 24 bit audio is plenty for headroom. Most post-audio is imported at 24 bit and the DAW will use internal 32 bit summing when mixing and processing.

I second the need for useable audio in Premiere. I'm recording in Apollo mode and all of my Audio tracks are pure noise. Mitch, is there a work around for now or will this be addressed in the next few days? I have a week of interviews I'll be shooting starting today with Apollo and need to start post right after recording.

Also, feature request, please please please give the option of recording less than 8 channels of audio per track.

There is a way to purchase only the Sony raw bundle ? Or there is only the "Global" Raw bundle at this time ?
I don't find the sony bundle on the website, maybe it's because I don't activate the Odyssey yet ?

Your English is fine. We do not sell any of the RAW record formats individually. We only sell the complete Odyssey RAW Bundle, which allows the use of RAW signals from all of the cameras we support.
 
I'd like to know when the next firmware update will occur. I will be shooting on the FS700 and would like to avoid the problems recording with this camera in the current firmware. (Yes, I know the solution would be to go back to the previous firmware, for the time-being.)
 
I think it posted today. See it on twitter but nothing here. I don't see any mention of Slog3 which was supposed to be in this one though.

You may wish to try Sound Devices Wave Agent which is still available at no charge. In other words you don't have to own a Sound Devices unit to use it.

It has become a pretty robust tool over the past year. If you use timecode, do double recording, add notes to your audio and other stuff to end up as metadata, this will be very useful.

That's actually absolutely unacceptable in a myriad of ways and an absolute product "upgrade" failure.

Please tell me this latest update fixes this nonsense.

Completely altering my edit system to incorporate footage I just recorded is absolutely absurd.

You should have sent out an alert to your users when this first came to your attention... a huge programming failure on your part exacerbated by a giant customer service fail.

Now hours wasted trying to figure this out or a work around that doesn't involve reverting to previous software.

Highly annoyed...

This is corrected in our latest firmware, released yesterday. Adobe's next update will also address this. Either update will cure the issue but it cannot hurt to have both up to date.

Just wanted to ask a quick question regarding the odyssey, in a future update is it at all possible to record the sony raw file in a format similar to the AXS R5 recorder, instead of uncompressed DNG's. I just wonder cause I know this format is quite a bit smaller file sizes than dngs. Love the odyssey, thanks

That would be cool, but I'd just be happy with Compressed DNGs too.
