Hey all, I recently took the plunge and now own a 7q+ to go with my FS700. I think I have most things figured out, but I still have some questions about low light. I shoot almost entirely in college basketball gyms and ice rinks, so am normally stretching the iso to 2000, 1/250th and iso 3.2-3.5. In these situations, I value low light over DR, and have never had a problem with the standard profile. With Iso locked at 2000, I'm not sure if I can overexpose by 1-2 stops in these situations to use slog2. ITU709 plain appears to be a good option?
Per an old article on the CD website, "The standard ITU709 (REC709) signal is not currently supported as Convergent Design considers the signal made available by the ITU709(800%) to be superior and capturing the greater range of the camera’s abilities." If I'm not mistaken it is now.
I'm sure it's been discussed before but in my couple hours of research I'm still a bit lost. Of course I'll do some test shots before my first shoot with it, just wanted a starting point and to clear up some questions about itu709 vs itu709 800% in use with 2017 firmware.
Thanks!
Shawn
