Should i set my a7s Hdmi resolution setting to 1080p or 1080i?
Cause when i set my a7s to 25p and hdmi resolution setting 1080p, my 7Q+ will only get 50p the lowest no matter my project rate there set follow input or 25fps.
If i set my a7s to 25p and hdmi resolution setting to 1080i, my 7Q+ can record and display PSF25p

BUT

if i set my a7s to 50p and hdmi resolution setting to 1080i, my 7Q+ only will display PSF25p
If i set my a7s to 50p and hdmi resolution setting to 1080p, then no problem, it can record 50p.

So conclusion set to 1080i when want record 25p and set to 1080p when record 50p?

Another questions for 7Q+ and 7Q
1. what is the meaning of output overlays on odyssey 7Q/+
2. When i output from 7Q+ via SDI to 7Q, there is a green line/bar display on 7Q bottom, no way can remove it? Planning to record on both 7Q+ and 7Q as a backup but the green line/bar will be recorded into footage as well.

Your conclusions about recording 1080 25p and 50p are correct.

For the overlays on the video output, you have the TALLY switched on. This is the indicator that the Odyssey7Q+ is prepared to record (green) or is actively recording (red). It is useful when the Odyssey is mounted with a camera remotely such as on a jib or car rig.

To switch off the TALLY function:
- Tap the INPUT/OUTPUT STATUS button in the Upper Tool Bar (the box that tells you the incoming frame rate)
- INPUT is usually highlighted, showing the INPUTS menu.
- Tap OUTPUT to highlight it and show the OUTPUT menu.
- Switch RECORD TALLY to OFF.
- You may also wish to switch OUTPUT OVERLAYS to OFF (Waveform, false color, etc.)
- You may also wish to switch LEGALIZE OUTPUTS to OFF.

Thanks for the help! But i didn't saw what LEGALIZE OUTPUTS.

and one more question can 7Q+ record 4k from a7s then output sdi from 7Q+ to 7Q then record 4k as well at 7Q? cause i notice the monitor will change to 1/4 size screen when change the 7Q to 4k too

Oops, just gave away a little something in the next firmware! ;-)

The Odyssey7Q+ will take in 4K over HDMI and supersample it to HD for monitoring and output over SDI & HDMI. That HD signal can be recorded by another Odyssey but it is HD, not 4K. The reason the image is changing to 1/4 screen size is that when you send a 1080p signal over SDI into the Odyssey7Q and tell the Odyssey7Q to record 4K, it assumes that this signal is the first of four SDI connections which will form a Quad-Link complete 4K. The Odyssey7Q and 7Q+ can record may types of signals delivered in many ways. This is an example of that. It will not upraise the signal from HD to 4K.
