F35: Odyssey 7Q, Timelapse, Variable frame rate questions

Good morning everybody, I could use some insight from some current F35 owners/ops. Mostly, how does the variable frame rate interface with the Odyssey.

I know the F35 can shoot 1-50fps, how does that translate to the odyssey? Does the odyssey auto detect and frame rate or does it need to be adjusted? Is timelapse possible? Does slow motion auto conform?

In other words, do you set both the odyssey and the F35 in 23.98 and then seamlessly use the variable frame rate / slow and quick motion or is it a ton of settings fiddling for each frame rate mode such as changing base frame rates on both the camera and the recorder?

I am worried about this, as I have experience with the FS5/FS7/Odyssey combo and I am familiar with the fiddling nightmare that entails.

Thank you for the insight.

Short answer it doesn't.

The way the variable frame rate works from the F35 is it sends out a signal say 50P and while it is ramping or using a different frame rate via the select fps function it will tag the unique frames being sent into the stream and fill in the rest of the stream with duplicate frames. The idea is that the recorder would see those tags and not record any images that were not unique. The odyssey doesn't support this and the only recorders that I know of for sure that do are the SRW-1 and the Codex. Simply put select fps and ramping are not supported on the odyssey unfortunately.
