odyssey 7q test shots /100fps and 4ktoHD

hey,
Shot a little test with the odyssey 7q and a fs700.

2k RAW 50fps/100fps
4KtoHD 25fps

17-35mm 2.8
50mm 1.4
85mm 1.4

some shots are raw, some are slightly graded.
shot at around 2pm, so lighting is very harsh, 5500K. Its too cool for my taste under these conditions.
but overall great picture! aliasing at 2k is really acceptable and the dynamic range is crazy!!

but... so you're saying the aliasing in 2k isn't quite that bad in real use case? I haven't been able to test myself (just the 4k raw directly), but after seeing the info here: http://www.dvinfo.net/article/acquisition/the-odyssey7q-and-sony-fs700-tests.html

... im kinda scared to shoot in 2k raw, and just go with the 4K2HD.

has anybody else been shooting 2k? would the raw signal and the flexibility of dng be worth it over 4k2hd when wanting to do a nice grade? Or would the trade-off be too great?

There's a thread on here where I posted some 2K raw tests, same shot on 2K and AVCHD. They were exactly the same on aliasing with the 7Q being no worse than internal AVCHD. There was tiny bit more moire on 2K RAW than AVCHD, but hardly at all.

4K2HD is a lot cleaner than 2K RAW and AVCHD, but it's limited to 30fps.

The 2k Raw is fantastic to grade and work with! I've pulled incredible footage out of underexposed footage with 2k raw. It really is a creatively freeing experience, although as everyone has discovered, overexposing a little definitely helps with noise (which isn't bad at all to begin with!)
I think the 7Q has spoiled us and already it's being taken for granted how much better it is compared to the internal avchd.

do you recall what the thread is called?

this forum's search seems to have an issue with 2 letter words. ie... searching "odyssey 7q 2k" tells me that 7q and 2k are too short and not included. heh, go figure.

I've shot some interviews in 4k (partly for future re-cropping, partly just REALLY use the workflow, not just a test)... and the file overhead i think makes it not worth it. trying to get info to discern differences between 4k2hd and 2k raw.
at the moment, it seems that the 4k2hd is overall better (easier workflow, no moire) and only slight loss in DR for grading. am i understanding all this correct?
