Does anyone offer a two battery plate solution so we can have the monitors run a bit longer? Same concept that SmallHD has?

Actually, one battery works pretty well. Just for reference, I recently DP'd a large-ish shoot for Disney and was about 12 hour day with btw 9 to 10 hours of actual set time with the 7Q + FS700.

I went through about 2 3/4 fully charged Sony 770s (the medium sized batteries) on the 7Q. Shot about 100 minutes of 2K RAW on 2 SSD cards. So the 7Q lasted pretty good and it's nice to NOT have 2 L-Series batteries on the back just because of weight. I did switch off the 7Q between long takes just to save battery.
 
Alright good to know! I am looking at picking up the L-plate and a few extra large L batteries along with one of those 2 or 4 battery chargers so I can keep plenty of juice on sets. The FS700 eats through batteries, so based on your day, you probably used batteries 50/50 between camera and 7Q?
 
If you can find the L plate - I've had one on order for about 3 weeks now and still no sign :(
 
We finaly got parts in stock for making the L-plates. Fulfilling all our backorders now and will soon have extra stock on the shelf.
 
We have shipped hundreds in that time, including many to Europe. Did you place your order with one of our dealers?

If you are in the UK, you can order a plate from Hawk-Woods, who makes its own version.

Similarly, I've had an Odyssey7Q package on order for 2weeks now at bhphoto, just awaiting the CD Sony L plate to arrive. Would love to hear if you're having supply issues, or if it's just fallen off the radar. Can't wait to get my 7Q though, thanks!
 
Order the plate from Olof @ Westside AV. It works great and I like it because it's off to one side of the 7Q which for my rig at least, balances it better.

We don't haea production issue on the plates. For the first few months of the ya we were severely backordered as we were waiting for a part from a supplier, but that order has been fulfilled and we have shipped hundreds since March. If there is a delay getting out plate from your dealer, then go with one of the third party suppliers.
