Odyssey 7Q+ now $1800 at BH

And one 256GB card included, if you need all the functionality, that's a serious deal. The other monitor/recorders are nice too, but as far as functionality goes, I think the O7Q+ is still at the top. Anyone know if this is a limited time deal, if so how long it runs? Maybe CD has something else cooking?

External recorders are prone to the downward price pressures a lot more than the cameras since they don't exist in a cartel controlled market and the price of the components - which are essentially computer parts - falls precipitously with every cycle. IIRC, when 7Q was first announced, its main competitor in the 4K biz was AJA Ki Pro Quad, that was retailing for $4,000. Now, it's competitors can be found for as low as $1200 (a different feature set, obviously, but sufficient for a lot of shooters).

1080p externals can be had for as little as $300, which is probably where the 4K units will be within 24-30 months themselves.

The Odyssey7Q+ is on sale for $1795 by Convergent Design and the sale pricing is extended throughout our Dealer Network. Please note that for international trade, customs fees and other import charges often apply, effecting the rates.

This sale includes a 256G SSD and is for a limited time only.

I must note that CONVERGENT DESIGN HAS NO PLANS TO REPLACE THE ODYSSEY7Q+ IN THE NEAR FUTURE. We have many plans for the Odyssey7Q+ and are working to continue to keep it relevant.

But CD will introduce something in the $1,200-$1,400 range, just to have a competitive entry level model?

(I know. Company secrets)

If that means more things like the Apollo upgrade, then that's very exciting. (I keep thinking about it every time I'm setting up our DataVideo switcher & AJA Ki Pro for a two camera webcast & how much smaller of a foot print I'd take up.)
