Odyssey 7Q Extended warranty?

Hey Mitch,

I was wondering if Convergent would offer an extended warranty for the 7Q? I bought mine last November and 1 year is coming up. The 7Q is solid right now, but this is a product that I plan to have for several years as I can't see the FS700 getting obsolete any time soon.

Can CD do a program where we pay a couple hundred extra bucks to extend the 7Q warranty after 1 year? I know many camera resellers do this, but I forgot to do the extended warranty when I bought the 7Q.

It's nice to hear from you. Your timing is great. Convergent design is going to announce a extended warranty offer shortly which you can register for on their website.
I don't have many details but they CD should be announcing it shortly. I'll keep you posted as soon as they announce it.

From what I understand, you have up until the one year expires to apply for the extended warranty, so you have some time : )
 
This is only mildly unrelated, but on my unit under one of the status menus it says that my warrant is void (WARRANTY: VOID)

I sent it in to be serviced once after a pretty serious malfunction, I wonder if that's the issue?

Either way, I'd love this too, and i'd love for my unit to be not warranty voided!
 
We do have plans for an extended warranty offer. When we have details worked out we will announce it.

For anyone with a unit showing the warranty as VOID (look in the ABOUT menu), please contact our Support Desk so that this can be properly dealt with.

Any word on the extended warranty yet? Mine (as are others) are quickly coming up on the 1 year mark.

Sorry to keep bringing this up again, but any new info on the 7Q extended warranty? I bought mine at the end of November 1 year ago and my warranty is just about up.

I'm looking forward to using it on my FS7 - ProRes at 4K which the FS7 does not offer.

Yes, we'll publish it shortly. ust getting the wording done. Don't worry, you'll be grandfathered in. We won't penalize anyone for our delay.
