Anyone using 7Q outdoor a lot facing the problem easily get high temp and over heat after long recording?
i found that 7Q is easily goes to high temperature under hot sun especially in higher frame rate, it show warning and stop recording near 60 degree. Even at indoor shooting the 7Q can go around 50degree too.
If that so it is abit risky to use it outdoor for some production work. If 7Q get overheat, need to shut it down and take some time to let it cool again, im sure that will make everyone not happy at the spot if the project is in rush.

im thinking to custom made a small fan and attach to the back of 7Q to let it operate longer time at outdoor.

I often use a small white umbrella over my cams and monitors/recorders on hot days, it does wonders to prevent over heating and weighs almost nothing, and it helps in the rain as well. Plus sometimes the shade is very nice for me as well. I have a quick clamp system for this.

I live in NH pretty cool by most standards, but I shoot in TX, MO, SC, NC, FL etc a lot. I have not had a problem with the O7Q overheating yet. But most of my slomo shots are very short.

Hi Alan, I seem to remember you trying to do 8 minutes of 240fps. I would imagine that would kill any electronic device. My 240 fps are usually under 30 seconds and I've yet to have heat issues.

The most I've run 240fps was about 2.5-3min... but I've done quite a bit of outdoor shooting and just shot outside all day today in the sun... no issues.

Before is test. Last few days shoot with 200fps within 20sec under hot sun, about 10clips+ it start give me the warning.

That's sound good, but for me shoot 2 times under hot sun, 7Q really get hot easily. Guess next time i should use umbrella for film to prevent sun BURNING my 7Q, random shooting is not a big problem, but for short film and project better can keep 7Q running.
