Odyssey 7Q 444 DPX Issue? HELP!

Looks to me like something misinterpreting the 4:4:4 signal as a 3D picture - ie. two 4:2:2 streams, or something...

^ Thats what I figured, Im just trying to figure out if its on the resolve side or the odyssey side. Hopefully its just a resolve glitch.

Does the odyssey play it back ok?

Logic dictates if you've had no problems before and nothing's changed on the odyssey, it is a resolve thing.

was this the top and bottom mirroring thing? it'd be great to know the fix for that :) i still haven't figured it out..

Yeah it was some double image thing- have you experienced this before Patrick? I ended up just playing the files in the 7Q and capturing to another prores recorder since they played fine on the 7q but were messed up as .dpx on a computer- were still trying to figure out what went wrong.

yeah. it happened on dual link 25p 444 10bit.

The 7Q seemed to correctly interpret and record the signal in DPX mode. But when I brought the files into premier or resolve, each frame was two images squished on top of each other. I thought maybe it was trying to interoperate it as interlaced, but I reckon it's a quirk with how the f35 maps and sends it's information over dual link at 25/24fps.

Dual link 50p 422 10bit was fine. As was single link 25p 422 10 bit.

i couldn't test others, as I only have one drive at the moment.

Is your re-recorded footage out of the 7Q full rez? I'd be scared it's only half rez horizontally...

^ That is exactly what I experienced. I hope they fix this issue because its preventing me from using the recorder.

The image out was surprisingly full res (at least to my eyes)

Mitch, yes I tried that and it was still showing as two squished images. Funny enough even after unpacking the ssds, they still played back fine on the 7q. Yet dpxs were still messed up.

Trying to record 444 right now with it - having a green or pink color cast over my picture on the Odyssey 7q. Is this related to RGB or? Had it on beamers several times but can't remember how we sorted it out...

Try swapping the SDI A & B cables. You may have reversed the inputs.

Make sure the F35 is set to 444. if it's still on 422 you'll get the pink and green.
