Odd Timecode Question/Problem?

Been recording today from computer on to DVX100B- from the computer I get no timecode reading as I record- but it records and when I put it into another deck I can see the timecode just fine- also when I use the DVX in camera mode I get and see timecode just fine.

One more thing that may be related- I just noticed today when I place footage I've loaded on to my timeline (using Adobe premiere 6.5) and I put my cursor on that footage all of a sudden I see timecode on my camera (which I use as a pass through)..
I must have a setting wrong or something...

just figured it out- I wasn't looking at the timecode but the UB code thingy- must have accidently hit the COUNTER button which toggles between different things like time code, etc.- new to this camera, but I am loving it..
although I don't like that little thumb joystick thingy for going through the menu options- has anyone heard of these things breaking? Nicer than my old SonyVX2000 but doesn't seem as sturdy...
