Odam fei mud

Here's a trailer for a performance troupe here in Denver. An interesting concept, but difficult to execute.

Shot with stock F6 settings, but edited in 60i for reasons of a tight deadline. Quality isn't that great, but then again their audience doesn't care.

50megs, Quicktime, yadda yadda.

Honest opinion? not enough action to get hooked, or story for that matter. i was kinda thinkin 'double ya tee eff?" dead bodies were kinda cool though. that part looked realistic.

Agreed Zach. I wasn't very committed to High Art with this one. The folks developing this show have hit on an interesting idea, if they can ever get it polished. Essentially, they want to do a show which mates the World Wrestling Federation with Feudal Japan, on acid.

Editing 24pA on a 60i timeline is a crime.  24pA isn't ever meant to be viewed with 2:3:3:2 pulldown, and after deinterlaced for the web you end up with some horrible 2:2:4:4 pulldown or something and it looks really choppy.  Still, the lighting was nice, and it was well put together.  The bluescreening was okay (though there's some obvious spill against the red background) but the lack of sound effects was odd.  It felt like a movie because of the camera motion and framing (which were good), but it looked like theater which is weird and a tough sell, because you're used to films having hugely exaggerated sound effects, while the thrill of theater is seeing it live.  Well put together and often quite pretty looking other than the technical issues, though.
