O7Q where to buy USA based

any other good suppliers other than b&h to get the odyssey 7q from? It says ships in 7-10 days, how accurate is that?

Has anyone in Europe ordered from B&H or other US retailer? Even with taxes, customs and shipping it's 1000 euros cheaper to order directly from US than any EU retailer I've found.

Are there any disadvantages in doing this? Warranty is world wide but how about repairs etc.? How are they handled in these situations?

Warranty repair policies are spelled out in the User Manual, which is available for download on our website.

As far as I can tell, you should be covered getting one shipped from the states to Europe so long as the mailman does not decide to go balistic on the package, in which case you'd probably be secured in some other way regardless :P

I understood it so as well. I think the main difference I can find is that if you buy from a local dealer they will send it back and forth with CD for you incase of warranty repairs. Whereas if you buy outside your own zone you will have to pay shipping and return of the unit in case it needs repairing. Correct me if I'm wrong...

It truly is a mystery where the additional currency exchange expenses come from. I would understand a slight increase or so but the OQ7 with two SSD's is 920 euros (1260 USD) more expensive in Finland. :(

Just be aware that if you purchase in the US from another country that when it is shipped to you your local customs service may hit you with some hefty import duties and VAT. Sometimes professional equipment comes with a heftier cost than consumer goods. I don't know the rules for the different countries and territories, but there are reasons for the costs.

Yep, you can find out from your local customs officers. VAT is tax deductible in Finland for companies and import duties vary between 0-14% on electronics.

For big stuff like the 7Q, I usually buy locally in LA because if something goes wrong, the dealer can usually help you out in a pinch.

If you can only buy over the internet, I really recommend buying from Olof at Westside AV, just because he knows the 7Q so well. Much more so than most dealers and he's a great 7Q resource. I've bought a number of things from him by now and it always arrives fast with great service.

where in la did you find yours? i've looked at a couple different places with no luck...

Not sure if anywhere in LA has one. I got mine when the 7Q just came out by blind luck just fishing through on-line dealers.
