O7Q: Options to upgrade O7Q FSRaw bundle to Raw Recording Bundle?

Hey guys/Mitch,
Just curious - I have the opportunity to buy a second hand 7Q (non-plus), with the FSRaw licence. Now I know these days the raw codecs are bundled together for $995USD, but I was curious as what happened with the FSRaw bundle after this announcement.

Were pre-existing FSRaw bundles
- 'upgraded' to the current raw recording bundle
- is there a fee one could pay to attain the current raw recording bundle
- or would I need to pay the $995USD price for the current raw recording bundle?

Just wanted to confirm before purchase, as it might end up better to buy a new O7Q+ and buy the all-in bundle.

Thanks in advance!
Phil.

You pay the difference, a $200 upgrade.

Once you buy the unit, register on our website (first yourself, then the Odyssey7Q). If you have any questions or if the unit comes up as flagged because it is listed under the previous owner in our system, you can feel free to contact me directly.

Just remember the essential difference between the 7Q and the 7Q+. The HDMI input on the 7Q is hardware-limited to 1080p30/1080i60 (or 1080p25/1080i50 for your use in Australia). That means that the only way it will be able to accept 4K video (as opposed to a RAW signal) is over dual-link 3G-SDI. Some cameras that this works for are F5/F55, GH4 (w/YAGH), IO4K, VariCam35, Flex4K.

Thanks for the replies guys. That's a great deal Mitch - good on you guys. Would definitely be buying a 7Q+ package if the deal on the 7Q wasn't so good - it's about 40% of the cost of a new 7Q+ with drives, batt plate, codec bundle.

Cheers again.

Hmmm, maybe I should cut you off from the 7Q deal then.

;-)

Haha, if my wife and I weren't saving for a house while the conversion rate is this abysmal, I'd already own a 7Q+ with all the fixings. Plus I think if I shoot/edit/colour another project on AVCHD, I might have a heart attack.

So please don't :D

I feel you man, I just grabbed some gear from Came-tv and B&H and that exchange rate is killing me!

I hate to use this phrase, but "the struggle is real" absolutely applies to us production guys in Aus right now, haha.
