I got a gig working for NYC governemt. This basically means i have Carte blanche to shoot ANYTHING i want in NYC.... Bridges, subway, Governemt building, Police officers...... And noone can touch me.

This was some spare footage on the way back form a shoot in Queens. i cant show the stuff i shot for the GOV yet though.

Its jsut pretty NYC stuff.

Sorry its 55 mb, i'm going to bed, i'll see it tomorrow. When you have time look into MeGUI for amazing MP4 compressions, if you dont know it already

Very good footage, sometimes very filmic feeling.
The colors are very cool - did you use a special scenefile for this?
Was this all stocklens?
Any problems yet with the police?

excerpt.

Stock lens, my secret scenefile. almost no CC. just a grad filter on one of the flag shots.

Uncle George's!!!!!! Loved that place when I lived in Astoria.

that's fun timur, cannot wait for more of that stuff to come down.

would you ordinarily NOT be allowed to shoot stuff like that? why do you need a licence from the government to film a bridge (I mean I understand if you were shooting Spiderman 4) but you can't just go out and film in NYC?

I think that if you are driving over the williamsburg bridge form Long island, as you are declining from the apex of the bridge on the right the buildings open up and give you a very secnic view of a small part of Manhattan. I only drove over the bridge once or twice so I'm not 100% sure if that is the place but i feel confident thats it.

I wanted to video tape, it but with the new laws in affect... maybe if you see what im talking about you could get it. A time laps from the bridge with the sun lighting this area would be amazing.

Nice footage and colour rendition Timur.

Plankton was hassling me and wanted to know and steal the secret formula to your Krabby Patty. I told him to lay off, as he could B.PRESSing it. :D

Well the stuff Timur did here would be fine, but there are new restrictions since 9/11, like you are not allowed to film in the subways. You can't even get a permit for it, I don't think.

Also, in NYC, you need a permit basically to lay down equipment on the ground. Those are free, but you have to prove $5 mil in insurance (I think it's $5 mil). But Timur's gig will give him a special carte blanche permit for doing all that across the city, I guess, because he will be shooting for the city.

I know how you got that image quality. I DP a project and got the same look....sorry T not a secret anymore....

cheers!
