My partner (DP/editor) and I (writer/director) are looking to make an experimental (format, not content) short film blending mediums and are hoping to find a DP and DV camera adept at night shooting in ambient light around the city. We'll be testing another camera this Sunday night (8/13) in Astoria, Queens and would love to have a DVX100/A/B, Canon XL2, or Sony HDR-FX1 there as well. If you have another DV camera that shoots nice ambient night footage, feel free to throw that in the mix too. The DV camera will not be competing with the other camera, but complimenting it as both formats will be used in the film.
In exchange for this assistance with test footage, we'll pay travel expenses, tape costs, and buy you dinner. You'll also receive a "Special Thanks" credit (or something more appropriate) on the resulting film even if you do not participate in the production. If you do participate in the actual production, you'd receive appropriate credit and a percentage of the profits should it sell. Given that it's a short, that's unlikely, but it's still a possibility.
This short film will be submitted to film festivals throughout North America and possibly Europe. We'll be shooting for 3 days (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) one weekend in late August or September.
Some details ....
Title: Working title is, A Man & His Cat, but that's definitely going to change.
Genre: Surrealism/Magical Realism
Length: 3 page script, likely 5-10 minute film

Thanks DXVusers!
