Schlepp Films is in need of a qualified DP for a 3 minute short film/mini-pilot that we are shooting. The film is for a contest on the www.filmaka.com site. This month the site is teamed up with the FX network and they are looking for a new edgy comedy that they can develop into a series.
We have strong characters and a very funny script. Our preference is for someone with comedic experience, but someone who does good work is our first priority. Because of the short 3 minute window, all of the shooting will be of a rapid nature. In fact, we have to go into the shoot knowing that: I.E. this part of the scene can only last 15 seconds.
We will be shooting sometime between Sunday April 27th and Wednesday April 30. We need you for one and a half days. The crux of the script takes place at an apartment in midtown. The other small section takes place at an exterior on the Jersey shore (transportation can be provided).
This is low-budget, so pay is on a low-to-no basis. If this film advances past the first round a 1000 dollar prize will be awarded and we can negotiate a piece of that. Might be able to put some cash together for you services, but it depends on a variety of factors.
For the interior I will be renting lights, so it is preferred if you have a knowledge of lighting techniques as well. Or if you have a gaffer you work with that you could bring on. If you have your own lights, the money dedicated to that would go right to you.
Our plan is to shoot on my Canon HV-20, but if you have something else you would like to bring to table, feel free to let us know.
We are confident that we will finish in the top ten. If we do, FX will give us specific notes and ask us to reshoot the 3 minute film. If we can then finish first (which we think we have a shot) we will receive funding for a full fledge pilot. At which point, because of our loyal nature we will use the people who have served us well and gotten us where we are.
If interested please contact immediately. Include reels, websites, equipment, rates??? and any other important information to Schlepp_films@hotmail.com
Once you contact me, I will give you a link to the script and the other materials that are part of our pitch.
Thanks and looking forward to working with you
