NVIDIA Quadro FX 540 Pro Video Edition work with avid xpress DV ?

I will be editing an hour long hip hop soon, I'm getting a Boxx 8200 Series PC over at http://www.boxxtech.com/index.asp

I'm swicthing from adobe to avid soon and I want to make sure that the workstation that I'm getting will work well with Avid. I wanted to know if the NVIDIA Quadro FX 540 Pro Video Edition with S-video and composite output break out box is compatible with Avid. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

I read something on here about not being able to export to tape with Xpress DV ? I might have to stay with adobe if thats the case which I hope i don't have to...

Yes, Quadro video boards are the ones recommended by Avid.

What I don't know is why you should export to tape through the video board output. To do that you need a proper capture board, external or internal, where you can export video and audio together.

Do yo have a firewire connection on your computer? You probably do or you wouldn't be using Avid to import your video.

Then you can use your DV camera, going into it through the firewire connection and then to tape. Do you need a different arrangement?
