Not related to the DVX in particular, but...
Anyone know precisely what the difference color-wise is between a PC monitor (and/or a Mac monitor while we're at it) and NTSC?
Obviously the DVX and video cameras in general are calibrated to output to NTSC (in U.S.). What saturation/gamma/gain/whatever settings get the footage to precisely match original NTSC colors when played back on PC monitor (both CRT)?
In other words: I've been working on a project, and doing color correction off a NTSC reference monitor and I've gotten everything to look the way I want it on there. But then to author an .avi for net release that will have the same look as the stuff going out NTSC.... i should....?
I can kinda fudge around with the footage by eye and get it close, But it seems like there must be some quantifiable scientific numbers out there that I could just plug in and voila.
