NTSC for European broadcast

I know I'm asking for trouble.

Shooting a documentary with NTSC DVX's that has the potential to be on US broadcast/DVD and European broadcast/DVD.

I've been digging all over the place to find out what frame rate to shoot in, and from what I understood so far 24p is fairly easy to convert to 25p.

Anyone have any insight on how to make it accessible for PAL broadcast? Is it even possible?

Thanks a bunch!

If it's for both markets, 24p is your best bet. 24p can air easily on USA television, and goes perfectly to DVD, and those DVDs can be played in both markets.

The only conversion would be from 24p to 25p, which is relatively simple and is done all the time for film-sourced shows.

You can also shoot in 29.97 and use JES Deinterlacer to do the standards conversion from the 29.97fps 720x480 DV NTSC source to the 25fps 720x576 DV PAL.
