NTSC DVD on PAL Player?

[Loki]

I have a wedding I am burning right now to DVD. My client wants his family in India to be able to watch the DVD, but I completely forgot that india is PAL.

Do DVD players nowadays do a conversion automatically? cause this is a pain in the ass..

I am leaning towards no... but perhaps there is hope.

Anyone know?

It's a crapshoot.
Some do, some don't. Most modern PAL gear will play NTSC, but most NTSC gear won't play PAL. Of course make sure that you don't encode a Region Lock to the DVD.
You'd be better off rendering out a PAL version for them. It's a pain, and will take a bit of extra render time, but it works and the cleints really appriciate it (and often will be understanding and happy to pay a little more for it too if you remeber to ask in time.)
