Now, you can use Canon EF lenses on F3 body...

Don't rejoice too much...I had the LiveLens adapter on an DOF rig a couple of years ago. It was a bit flaky, and downright awkward to use. I guess it's ok, if you lock-off a shot and don't need to fiddle with it.
I've done the brain-squeeze on trying to run SLR lenses on my F3 and it's always a sacrifice of some sort over using cinema lenses. For me, the joy of going to the F3 over DSLR was to use PL glass.

However, if you already own the Canon glass and intend to keep it, may allow you to save some $ and get some options to use in a pinch.

LeavingTheCandy, I agree with you!
PL lenses are the best way to use the F3, but they're expensive.
IMHO, Gerardo's idea is great, if you own Canon EF glasses.

Every time I try to save the $ and use an SLR glass on my F3, I regret it. (unless it's for fun). I enjoy putting really unique or exotic lenses on it to see what I can get.
A while back, I bought an old Nikon 180mm/2.8 locally for $20. Yes, $20. The front element was scratched and scuffed, so the guy just wanted rid of it. The sensor never even sees the scratches and it's a WONDERFUL lens.
I wouldn't want to use it on the set, but for mucking around, it's awesome!

The challenge of crop or multiplication factors also makes it maddening. PL glass, no worries. :love4:

Yep, but for the right PL lenses you gotta spend an arm and a leg.
When I need them I call a rental house.
CP2 or something like that, IMHO, are PL mount entry level and they're not the top notch.
I own a lot of great photographic lenses like the Nikon 14-24 2.8, Nikon Noct 58 1.2 (the King of the hill), Hartblei 120 2.8, Helios 85 1.5, etc... for sure the focus and the iris rings control is not so good, but the image quality is superb.
