Now thats a big freaking Spider!

Yikes!!! That thing is going to eat like a King.

We've got some big ones here, but not like the one in the original post. These grow to be about as big as your hand (leg span).

We'll find a few inside our school every month and have to wrangle them out the door. One time one of our volunteers was in the restroom and, while on the toilet, she saw a giant spider on the wall right next to her. Needless to say that spider didn't make it out alive.

Spiders are the creepiest things on the planet.

Saw this earlier...didn't think to post. Huge-ass spider! The biggest we get here are tarantulas (speaking of which, tarantula season is upon us - they should be in the streets pretty soon)

Their are actually two spiders in that photo bluespider not one. That is what they call "camel spiders" though not the scientific name.

I don't understand how beautiful animals like whales, pandas, and elephants can be on the brink of extinction but spiders, which everyone hates, run rampant and flourish.

Save the Whales. Kill the Spiders!! :)

I was just over in Cambodia a few weeks ago, and when we stopped at this "rest stop / market" (both terms used loosely), this woman came up and was trying to sell us something. As an average non-Khmer speaking american, I didn't know what was in this giant silver bowl, but they were all charred and crispy. She could see I was confused, so she showed me the 5 gallon white bucket that was underneath it. It was half full of live spiders the size of my spread hand trying to climb out. It was the grossest thing I'd ever seen. I'll see if I can find some pictures that our team members got.

What's worse than that, was knowing that woman found and caught those spiders ... at that rest stop. I held my pee until we got to Siem Reap.

Spiders don't bother me, no matter how big.

Now, if a wasp got that big, I'd run away crying like Hudson watching Titanic . . .

Just when I thought I was over having to check under my bed at night. Thanks a lot! Now who's gonna pay my psychiatrist bill?

"Doctor, the spiders are back, and DVX caused them to come back. But this time the spiders talk to me."
"Ahhhh, that's better. At least something is talking to you now and not ignoring you"

:2vrolijk_08:

Hey, what was that......?

Hehehehe...I, too, am afraid of wasps (and bees) but that's because of a bad expirience as a young child.

UGA: Where the hell do you find these pictures? Do you just have a folder of odd photos that you pull from whenever you can? :)

I have mild arachnophobia; despite all my logic, it all goes out the window (after all I am human, though people mistake me for being robotic)

I think I can trace back when my fear started, I was about 3-4 years old, and my grandmother gave me a shower ( back home, our old old villiage house) which had FIVE of those spiders in the shower room, I screamed when I saw them, but see just pushed me in and said, "nah, those things are harmless"

anyhoo, that photo brought back VIVID memories, shudder..
