I was reading through the press releases of Panasonic Broadcast Europe and found this:
The AG-HVX200 will be available in the first quarter of 2006 at suggested list price below 10,000 Euros including 2 8GB P2 cards.

This is from an official press release downloaded from the european PanaBroadcast site.

I think, quite many people read this and when they got asked about bundles, they said: P2 bundles only. The press release does only say this.

So that's probably where the rumor came from.
To be honest, I'm still pretty much convinced they will try to sell this baby in Europe bundled only. I got the idea that this cam only exists (for that price) to push P2. It's the same as printers. Today, you can get a good printer for very little money. It's the cardridges where it hurts. Same stuff here I assume.

And I'm equally convinced that they will sell the camera separate from the bundle, based on what Marc Irwin forwarded. And he's the marketing manager for all of Panasonic Europe.

As for me, being honest: I'm happy about EACH SINGLE customer who won't have enough energy and will to fight for buying a camera without cards because these customers will bring down the price for P2 cards step by step! Thanks lazy guys! :thumbup: (I still think to wait for 16GB for a moderate price.... this might last...)
