Novoflex adapter clarifiaction

Perhaps it's simply being limited by the internal aperture travel range of the lens it's currently mounted to? Does it move the lens' aperture through it's full range? Does the 'line up' point change when different brand and/or max. aperture lenses are mounted?

John the reason for this - the aperture control on the novoflex is very short, so a slight movement will change the aperture a lot. For example all my Zeiss lenses have a different throw length from lowest to highest aperture so the end is different depending on how long it is. On the lens youre using its just reached the end. Its fine in other words.

Now if your lens has manual aperture the novoflex should always be in the closed down (small 0) position and use your lenses more accurate aperture control.

Exactly. Posted at the same time.

Thanks, I had a thread abou this before as to why...just wanted to see if other noticed the same thing on theirs...cheers

I just checked my novo unit on a Sigma f4 lens and a Nikon f1.4 lens. It's stops at the same point as yours on both lenses. Must be normal. We shot a national TV spot with both lenses the other day and everything worked perfectly....
