i might have missed it, but has no one mentioned Matt McDermmit? his video, if not the best, deserves to be listed with Rich and John!

the "free your mind" video, directed and DP-ed by McDermmit WAS shot of the DVX100 (not a)

personally i think thats simply the most impressive thing i have seen come out of the camera.

with rish and disjecta in a close second

this movie was probably shot in 1/24 wasn't it? you could see that smearing effect.
Alot of DV movies have this look going. I dont like it. I shoot 1/60 for a fuller film look.
I dont know why but 1/24 just makes the motion seem like it's hanging by 24p and 60i.

regarding november...

i was going to my gym on thurs june 16th and saw the parking lot was totally screwed... i assumed it was the la film fest... that was indeed the case... [same complex]

los angeles film festival june 16-26 is showing 'november' on the BIG SCREEN...
the festival happens every year at the laemmle sunset 5 theaters... crescent heights and sunset blvd in la.

the november screenings
are
WED JUNE 22 9:45PM AT THE DGA 1
THU JUNE 23 2:30PM AT THE DGA 2
$10.00
$5.00 parking at the dga 7920 sunset blvd & hayworth

the program also says you can buy tickets at lafilmfest.com or 1.866.filmfest.

i might have to check this out, since it won so many awards, and it would be my first vision of the dvx imagery on the BIG SCREEN!

oh and i forgot to mention...
i saw two different people documenting/covering the festival...
one had a dvx100a and one had an xl1 or 2...
the canon shooter was far away on sticks using the zoom...
the dvx user was going handheld in the crowd...
haha.
