After a dinner out, photographer Sophie Jacobs (Courteney Cox) and her
boyfriend Hugh (James Le Gros) stop at a corner store for a late night
snack. While Sophie waits unaware in the car, Hugh is murdered in a
violent robbery.

Haunted by guilt, Sophie goes on with her life as best she can:
teaching photography at a local art college, meeting her mother (Anne
Archer) for lunch, and visiting her therapist (Nora Dunn). But one day
at school, a slide mysteriously appears in the projector’s carousel: an
image of what looks like her car in front of the corner store the night
of the shooting. Are these paranoid visions stemming from her grief and
guilt, or does someone know something about the murder? As her
investigation deepens, more strange events occur, drawing into question
exactly what happened the night of Hugh’s death. Soon, Sophie's life
begins to splinter, as the line between fantasy and reality becomes
alarmingly blurred.

November is a psychological thriller exploring a woman’s struggle to
transcend trauma through a surreal blend of emotion and memory. The
narrative and visual style are comprised of dreamlike moments and
images stemming from Sophie’s subjective experience, blurring the line
between reality and the subconscious.

Thanks Jan for letting us know about Novemebr. It is already playing here in the LA area in four theaters and Mad Hot Ballroom which was also shot on a DVX is playing in three theaters. And in Santa Monica (a community adjacent to LA), where I live, Novemebr and Mad Hot Ballroom are playing in the same theater. A mini DVX festival on its own. I plan on seeing them both next week.

Jan, It would be great if you could check out the thread titled "latest News?".

We are very anxious to hear from you about the DVX 100-B even if there is no news. Just letting us know that you are aware of the interest would be something.

I saw it on Friday at the Sunshine theatre in New York. My comments are in the cinematography section. The DVX shined in this film. It made me realize that I can hang with the big boys even with this camera. Even the wide shots look remarkable good considering the medium. Great usage of color to tell the story. Kudos to Nancy Schrieber and colorist Mike Sowa. Good slow motion (I think she used Twixter software). Didn't see any aliasing or artifacts. I will definitely get the DVD when it comes out for reference.

For for info, today's July 29 and November is out in a different theatre than what the list says. So, check out first your local listing before showing up at the theatre ;-)
