Nov 1 Update from Birger

Does anybody know if the RED Birger mount let you adjust the aperture cine-style, or does it use steps? If so does it use 1/2 stop increments or 1/3 stop?
Hopefully the new Birger will give us cine-style!

Also, does anybody know the range of the old remote, or even better, what range we can except with the new one?

I believe the stepping is actually a function of the lens itself. From what I have seen of the Canon electronic lens control, I do not think it supports anything but steps, at least at this point. Remember, it was designed for still photography where stepping isn't a problem.

I would like to know what solution Birger will offer to drive precisely focus motor (Viewfactor?). I can't seem to imagine a miracle here. It's like I would pretend to shoot fast action sport stills on Zeiss ZE. Not the ideal lens for this, isn't it?
How do you like pulling focus on gorgeous recent Canon L zooms when you have 0.20 inch on lens barrel to move from infinity to 6 feet?

That's the main reason I want a Birger Mount.
If they use the same or similar remote as the one they used with the RED mount, you'll get a sweet wireless follow focus. Then you or your focus puller can use the limit functions, so that you can pull either very precise or very fast depending on the situation.
Watch from 9:45 in the video on www.birger.com to see this in action.

The wireless FF would be nice, but for those of us on a budget - a simple means of controlling the iris is all that is really needed - especially if you've already got a follow focus. This would also be easier to manufacture cutting down on the wait time - for those of us with Canon L and EOS lenses.

Agreed. Although I would shell out for the wireless controller as well, I really want to avoid purchasing an adapter for my canon lenses now (I'm not going to be buying anything beyond my L-Series lenses to use with this camera. . . is that wrong?) then re-buying an adapter from Birger! So it's holding up my upgrade to the AF100. Can't order until I hear something firm. I know people probably think that's crazy, but I have the 5DII with lenses, and don't really see enough need to justify the additional funds for cine lenses.

Of course, someone with more experience might tell me why I'm going to want those cine lenses!
