Nothing to do with the FS100

Careful what you wish for, that could put us all out of a job!

+1 on that... I for one am worried about all these auto features being put into gear. It eliminates a lot of thought process, fostering videos and photos made with look-and-point mentality instead of creative thoughts that were the basis of the shoot to begin with.
The worst part is we actually have to sit down and learn how to use this auto beep to keep up with the amateurs :(

I for one hope this never happens, which is doubtful, because it will. But I don't think it is a good idea, takes away a lot of creativeness.

Funny how the commercial speaks to ppl that get drunk at party and don't remember anything,LOL that is the demographic for this camera? LOL

Just remember, this camera does not do this optically, rather, it takes a range of focus lengths and combines them into one file - similar to how HDR takes a range of exposure values. But unlike expanding the exposure value, this technology serves little use for focus pulling (because it takes static pictures in a range, and pulling between these ranges would jump gaps unless the range is incredibly dense). One practical use would be digitally combining focus lengths into ultra wide Depth in special shots - which would probably look better done optically anyways.
