Here's my first music video for the band Backbone from Cambridge ohio. Shot one night, $0 budget, 0 lighting just used a couple work lights. The guys did give me a new 500gb esata drive for my mac when we were done so I guess you could say that was the budget.

Great video! Liked the stark look and the old house with peeling paint location.
What type steadicam did you use?

Huge file though- only saw the video because I left it loading, came back
later and it was viewable.

How many different takes did you do? Shoot the whole song several times? I'm
doing my first music video Saturday and could use a few pointers. Not sure it's
going to work out a we are shooting in the backyard of an old house and the weather forecast is 29 and windy.

We probably did about 20 or 30 takes. Just Had them play the whole song each time and basically did the full band some of the takes and then each one alone for several takes. We blasted the music thru one of their monitors and they just played along with it. By the end of the night we actually blew the speaker in the monitor. We did a whole other shoot the next day with overcranked shots and everything, but I really liked the look from the night shoot.

I also updated the video to vimeo so it plays quicker.
