Not infecting my 100a with STDS !

Hi.

So I shoot on the MQ tapes but I use a Sony DSR-11 deck for all of my capturing. I use this deck for everything, every single format of tape has been through that deck as its always in use. Is it ok to put my MQ tapes into that deck and put them back into my camera to continue recording ? By using all of these different brands in the deck, are clean tapes subject to picking up any residue or dirt from other tapes having going over the heads in the DSR-11 ? Or am I just being paranoid about this whole STD thing. Just dont want to dirty my beautiful Panny thats all

I personally would not re insert those tapes back into the DVX after being in that dirty deck.:grin:
Most likely you will have minimal problems, but there always is the possibility. Just curious, why do you shoot, then capture, then shoot some more? I don't think I have ever come accross a situation where I shot footage, captured it, and then used the tape to shoot more. I figure, at $3.85ea, I can afford to have half filled tapes, and such laying around. Heck, you can buy an hour of footage for less than a Big Mac meal!
I say, shoot it, capture it, store it. IF you have to recapture later, fine, but tapes are cheap enough already to not have to risk your $3500 camera for.
