Norwegian Broadcasting corp started off with 50... I was told

But it doesn't really surprise me.
They're using it for DVCPRO 50, though. Not HD.

What about the Beeb thingy. Do they actually use the HVX for HD work, or is it used as an "HD camera to shoot HD" there as well?

They started out with a big commitment not sure of the number.
I attended a seminar at Forgner Kino in Oslo held by Video4 (Great service... Thanks for the great deal.osv) sometime ago and the NRK (Norwegian Broadcasting corp) people seemed very excited indeed.

Kind regards

Last I heard, the only BBC HD production currentlyhappening at the moment is for top end stuff - think "Planet Earth" and drama - and is solely done with larger format cameras, HDCAM, Varicam etc.

They've used PD150s etc as second cameras to Digibeta etc for a while now, and apparently a lot of those have now been replaced by Z1s, though AFAIK those have only been used in DVCAM mode, the big advantage (over PD150s) being true SD widescreen. I did hear they were evaluating the HVX200, but understood that it was really with an eye to "2nd camera to a Varicam". The expectation was certainly that mainstream work would continue to be done on 2/3" cameras. I'll try and make some enquiries.
