sorry about this, but im new to the DVX game. im upgrading from a VX2100 to a DVX100_ i have the oppurnunity to buy a new DVX100B, or a used DVX100 with 214 hours on the heads. i run a skateboarding website. and mainly shoot skateboarding so ill need the century optics .3x mark 2 fisheye which is around 900. i read that the DVX100 will produce the same picture as a DVX100B. would it be wise to just go with the used camera, and use the money left over to buy the lens for it? or buy a new DVX100B? i also use my equipment for TV work..

i guess what im trying to say is, is the plain 100 basically the same camera? just the 100B have been souped up a lot? will it produce the same picture? is 214 hours on the heads of a DVX100 a lot?

thanks

I have a DVX100A that I film all kinds of extreme sports stuff with and my friend has a DVX100B. I have all the features I need in my camera and the B doesn't do timelapse like my A will. Also I have the MKII fisheye and it is soooooo wide compared to my old vx2000 setup..Good luck and you will be happy with either one..

Thats what he is doing and Drew, I reccomend that you go ahead and get the original and get the lens. You'll be more than happy especially if you are buying code rad's Dvx.

Congrats on buying the new camera Drew. Mine should be here tomorrow. Try and buy a copy of Barry Green's Book and Dvd. I have a copy of that coming also. I heard its worth the money.
