Our preacher prefers to wear his wireless mic clipped to the lapel of his jacket. He says that clipping it to his tie causes damage to the tie after awhile. I can see his point. But he turns his head quite a lot when using the wireless mic, and sometimes we have problems with dropouts because of it. The typical label clip has the mic held far away from the mid-line of the body, which doesn't help.
I'm wondering -- does anyone know of a clip for the mic that won't damage a nice necktie? Or should I just apply some padding to the teeth of the clip we have?
