OK - rule number 1 - don't shoot auto! F1 is also noisy in low light.
In terms of rescuing what you already have - look at Neat Image which can help reduce (or in extreme use eliminate) noise.
I shoot with HMC 151s all the time so rest assured the problem is not that bad.
Learn to shoot in manual mode - it will be the best investment in time you can ever make. Manual white balance, manual IRIS, manual gain manual shutter speeds.
If you are struggling with the user manual by Barry's book, otherwise read one whole chapter of the manual every night, then the next night read that chapter again and read the next chapter too. The next night read the second one again and the third one.... until you are done. 'Almost' everything you need to know is in the manual, the rest is in Barry's book, or can be found by self experimentation in a scientific way.
i am shooting a wedding today and the noise level inside will be high
will i send you on camera settings at present im not totally ofay with the camera yet.
When I got My HMC150 I ran into exactly the same problem. I pulled it out of the box started shooting and the noise was ridiculous.
A few helpers:
1) Search for "Noise" and "Grain" on this forum.
2) Do a factory reset. This may or may not have helped me but it seems to be common advice. However, it seems like a strange thing to do with a new camera. Search the forum for instructions.
2) Take a look at your scene files and adjust them. The default scene file blows and I think Panny should make the default setting something way more attractive. Coring seems to be the setting that affects noise quite a bit. Higher Coring = less noise. You can also turn down your V Detail.
3) Make sure you haven't turned up your gain switch on the side of the camera by accident. I did this a couple of times when pulling the camera out of my bag.
4) Go to manual for Iris.
5) White balance and black balance every time you turn on the camera. I white balance any time I enter an environment where the light changes to any degree of significance. When you white balance, hold down the white balance button for a little bit longer after the white balance is set (Like a second), the camera will read "ABB" for Auto Black Balance. This seemed to have helped a lot.
6) Play with the shutter?

I am fairly new to this camera, but I played with the settings until I found myself with a nice image that had acceptable noise levels, which were barely noticeable, perhaps even unnoticeable in good light.
I found I liked the Cine V scene file tweaked as follows: Coring level of +4 and V Detail of +2. I have read that turning down your Master Ped down helps with the noise in the shadows but I have not messed with that enough to tell you for sure.
The spark scene is cool too.
Take my advice with a grain of salt, I am a new jack with this camera.
CentralPark, here are some threads that I found that were helpful to me in tweaking my HMC150 to where I wanted it to be (For now).
Not all of them are about noise, but most of them are related to noise, or tweaking an HMC150 image to how you want it to look. The last link has to do with using class10 cards, and it saved my ass!
