Noise with hpx170 in premiere pro? Is this me or the camera?

Note: this is just a "print screen shot" from premiere pro CS4 into Photoshop cs4 then saved as a jpeg.

I was doing test shots with the hpx with a friend for a video we're going to shoot (1st one with hpx ) and when I put it in premiere I am seeing a ton of noise in the dark sections of clothes (as you can see in the blue jacket) now, I'm just learning the nuances of the cam, tried to get proper exposure, white balanced manually , etc..etc.. and I'm new at this so bare with me but I have read the boards and saw there was a large thread about the noise level in the hpx vs the hvx and I forget the guys name on dvxuser , but he sent his cam in and then jan talked about the reset button bringing it back to the noise levels of the hvx. I did not reset ..yet. But that below pic shows NOISE..

Now, is that just me not lighting correctly, the sun, premiere pro cs4, my monitor or is that what the hpx looks like? I cant think its the HPX, I'm thinking its got to be me, so tell me how I get rid of it so when these aren't test shots anymore, I dont want to kill myself for shooting unusable footage! Lol

I didn't have gain on, I didnt have the ND filter on ( i dont think, cant be sure) forget how open the iris was, it was 24 720p (instead of PN, I didnt realize that til alot later) my draft quality on my premiere pro is Best, I don't have a HD monitor (yet) taht I'm previewing this on so if you dont see noise then maybe its my monitor..I dont know.
if you need any more info let me know & help a brother out!!

Thanks for the tip jim.. I actually shot on scene file F6 and the only thing I changed was teh coring to match the hvx at +2 (per barry )but I will check it out.. But just so I'm not crazy, you do see it right?

thanks.

I definitely see some noise in the blacks of the photo, but it doesn't look like the noise I usually encounter even with the HVX200.

Here's a possible solution: Download and install P2CMS (free from Panasonic's website). View the original P2 file clips and see if you're getting the noise. If you aren't, it's in Premier. If you are, you may want to try re-importing, but it could be in the footage.

If the noise exists in the footage, you can download a program called Raylight MXFX, and it has a noise removal tool. There's also a noise removal program called Neat Video, which is documented on these forums. I bought the Pro version of that because it can do some great things.

Let us know what you find out.

Thanks for the look out cmb_1455 but I think Jim Carswell might have been right. My master pedestal as high , as were a couple of the scene file settings ( I dont even know how but..) when I changed em and looked at semi darker spot in my basement, it looked ..better.. I think..

on another note, I wanted to try your technique but of course Panasonic ( and I know jan & barry here help out tremendously but this is not directed at them..its panasonic) doesnt support windows Vista wit the p2cms software!!?? wtf.. 1st I had to set up windows vista to update the dam drivers for my e-series card and for the viewer , so I set up a 3rd HDD as a dual boot because I still used xp64 (which panasonic also doesnt support) just to update and now I cant use the p2cms because for some stupid azz reason pany doesnt have a driver for vista only xp32.!?! wow..

so they ahve vista drivers for the Viewer and to update the e-series card but not for there content management software..

ridiculous.

but thanks dude.. I'm gonna shoot some more tommorow and then check and hopefully it'll be good..
