I'm having problems with sound when recording. When I playback what I just recorded I hear a strong loud static underneath the audio.
The audio control knobs are set low (keep it well below the 6 dot red 0db).
The same thing happens with an external mic into either channel.
When I switch the monitor setting in the menu to "live" my sound is crystal clear, no static. When I go to "tape" I hear the static.
I played an older mini dv tape to check how it would sound and it sounded perfectly fine but when recording the static returns.
