Noise and Grain issues

I know this will be kind of hard to give any advice on seeing how there isnt any sample footage uploaded. Anyhow, I have been filming with my DVX100B and a lot of my footage seems to have a bit more noise then I would like in the image. The footage is looking amazing but in many cases there are traces of the oh so annoying noise and grain. My scene files are as follows...

Scene Files
:
Detail Level -3
V Detail Level -2
Detail Coring +3
Chroma Level +2
Chroma Phase -1
Color Temp 0
Master Ped -10
A. Iris Level 0
Gama High
Knee High
Matrix Cine
Skin Tone DTL Off
V Detail Freq. Thin
Progressive 30P

Shutter 1/60th
F Stop 5.6
Gain 0

I know a high detail level will produce noise but with mine being -3 and my Detail Coring which will smooth any noise out in the positives, +3. I just don't see why this is showing up.

Also the clips seems to look better direct from cam to FCP, then after I play with them in AFX. It seems like there is more noise or it is more noticeable after AFX.

Like I said aside from the noise the clips are coming out amazing.
If there is any advice anyone can give it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Joe

Sorry for any confusion and I am sure this should now probably go into the Post section, but I just confirmed that AFX is diminishing the quality, the footage I have directly from the camera before I sent it to AFX to put a vignette on looks perfect. Is there any reason why this could be?

Try bringing your detail coring to 0, or -2.

Do you have light?

Lets see a grab/still image so we can help you a bit more. But I'd like to hear more
about your lighting set up.

yeah, need to see what you're talking about --- post grabs of noise.

also- is 'AFX' meant to stand for "AE" (Adobe After Effects)?

Your settings actually look really good for combating noise. DETAIL down, CORING up, no GAIN, iris in the sweet spot. All good. DVX100B least noisy of the DVX series.

How long have you had the DVX and what cameras were you using before? Could it be a perception issue? Compared to many other cameras, the DVX is noisy, even when properly configured. It's just the look of the camera. I've gotten used to it, and I actually really like the look.

After Effects is where your problem clearly is.
I still have trouble with that program. I often get horrible quality renders.
You have to reeeally learn that program. All it's possible settings etc... It's a deep dark pit of details.
Back to school...

You honestly feel the B is the least noisiest Joshua? I had to sell my DVX100B since the noise on it in low lighting was WORSE (and I got a replacement too and even that had the same issue) than the low light in the DVX100 (regular version). The LCD on the B is also horrendous I feel.
