No Timecode in HVX-200A Tape Mode

I can't seem to figure this out. I record something onto tape and then when I play it back, the timecode stays at 00:00:00. I put a different tape inside, same thing happens. I sort of figured out the settings to change before, but it does it again later. Hopefully someone else here has had this issue before.
