GH2 No Sound on GH2 Clips

I just shot some video with my gh2. When I play the clips back in camera, I hear audio. When I play them back on my imac, they are silent. Any idea of what could cause this? It's driving me crazy. I've never had this happen before.

Have you played other files on your computer?
Is there a setting on the computer or the player on mute?

if you can hear them on the camera the audio is there. it is more likely an issue with your imac and whatever player program you are using.

Have you imported the clips into a editing software? You can tell from the audio waveforms if its there and whether its recorded to both channels or just to one left or one right channel.

Sounds like a codec playback glitch... what is your editing software? You might need to transcode first to something like Apple ProRes.

I use clip wrap to turn my files into apple pro res files. I use premiere pro cs6. Wether I import the mts files or the converted pro res files, I get no sound. I think it has something to do with my operating system. My mts files are now hidden in a private folder. If I show contents to get to the folder, I get no sound. However, if I just double click on the private folder, I can get to my clips and QuickTime does playback the sound and video, but I can only open 1 file at a time. I can't use clip wrap this way. I might have to export open 1 clip at a time in QuickTime and export audio only. Then sync it to my silent pro res file. This is very slow and frustrating. I
I have the latest OS X. I think it's causing this problem.

Why are you converting to Pro res if you are using Premiere?
+1.

But regarding your sound issue, if Quicktime Player plays the sound, then the audio is there. As another poster above asked, if you import the Clipwrap files or MTS files into premiere, do they have an audio waveform?

You don't need to convert to pro-res - that's the long and painful way and Adobe doesn't like pro-res sometimes. Put the files straight on the timeline - should work fine.

Like I said, I don't get sound when importing the files directly into premiere (not pro res). QuickTime only plays one file at a time with sound. It's some sort of weird Mac OS X thing that put my avchd files into a private folder.

mts files have always been stored in the named "private" folder. mov is stored in the DCIM along with stills.

are you importing from the sd card or from the comp hdd?. you may need to clear your scratch disk in order for premiere to conform the audio of the new mts files.
