No sound from headphones or pin jacks

Hello, I'm not getting any sound from the shotgun mic though my headphone jack and when I try to playback footage on a TV using the CH1 and CH2 pin jacks on the side.
Sound is fine when I firwire recorded footage into my NLE.
Can you point me to the seting to adjust? Thanks Craig
