No Sound for P2

Why would you do that (put the LastClip.text file onto your desktop)? You just just keep the Contents and LastClip.text file together just as they are. And you don't want to put the LastClip.txt file into the Contents folder; that's not where it goes.

Like I said, your best bet is to transfer the footage from the card to your computer using P2 Viewer. It puts everything where it's supposed to go; if you transfer folders using Explorer, you can run into these kinds of problems.

Also, never change the name of the Contents folder or any folder inside of it. It needs to stay exactly what it is. That is the P2 file structure. Changing it breaks the structure. Vegas (or any other program which reads P2, and not just MXF files) can't find what it needs.
 
I have been downloading my P2 files the same since 2008. I run a cable to the HVX200 Camera and click on the removable disk that pops up on my computer and when it opens up it has two files - one says 'CONTENTS' and the other says 'LASTCLIP'. Here is the photo;




I drag the Contents file onto my desktop and when it finished downloading I give it a name. I don't download 'LASTCLIP' Have done this for a number of films. Hundreds of clips and never had an issue here is how the files look named. They all open up without any issues. This is the only way I was shown how to do it and since it work I never looked for another way;

It's the best, most reliable way to offload a card. It will also stitch spanned clips into a single clip.

You've gotten away with it so far because Raylight doesn't use or need the entire P2 structure; it just reads MXFs. But Vegas 12 doesn't just read MXFs; it reads the whole P2 system. The P2 system requires you to keep everything exactly as it is on the card, and that means you can't rename the CONTENTS folder.
 
(On another note, pressing PrntScrn will copy your computer screen to the Windows clipboard, so you can Paste it into Paint and then save as a JPG file, instead of taking photos of your monitor.)
