Why would you do that (put the LastClip.text file onto your desktop)? You just just keep the Contents and LastClip.text file together just as they are. And you don't want to put the LastClip.txt file into the Contents folder; that's not where it goes.
Like I said, your best bet is to transfer the footage from the card to your computer using P2 Viewer. It puts everything where it's supposed to go; if you transfer folders using Explorer, you can run into these kinds of problems.
Also, never change the name of the Contents folder or any folder inside of it. It needs to stay exactly what it is. That is the P2 file structure. Changing it breaks the structure. Vegas (or any other program which reads P2, and not just MXF files) can't find what it needs.
