No sleep for 33 years! OUCH!

This story is bogus. 60 Minutes did a feature awhile back on a family that had a defective gene which, after a certain age, prevented them from falling asleep. What happens is you basically turn into a zombie after about 4 months, no longer have the ability to think, you lose all control of your motor skills, and because your body can never officially "rest" it shuts down and you die. 33 years without sleep. HAH! That's impossible!

I mean, unless he's fibbing and going into SOME kind of sleep 1 or 2 hours a day... that might be a different story.

Hee, hee. Typical of "investigative" reporting these days--they only sought to prove he is healthy--not that he hadn't slept.

I remember the days I used to see these stories and thing, "damn, that's cool"
Now I look at them and think..."no way that's real"

Are we all that cynical? Are we that old?
Isn't it funny that for people who want to make sh*t up for a living we're unwilling to suspend disbelief for something that's kind of a cool idea?

Alright - it's probably not true...but what if?
Hell, I would have liked to see a Sci Fi entry about a guy who never sleeps...
:)

uhoh, I'm seeing a patern!

Maybe we should have a "take2-fest" where the theme would be "something from a previous fest". It would eb a chance ot either improve a previous entry or make somthing inspired by the results of the competition.
Other name sugestions: "remake-fest" or just "re-fest" or "festa-vu" or "this-was-a-silly-idea-so-lets-not-do-it-fest"
