No Playback - Timecode Problem - URGENT

Hello everybody,

I've had my DVX for more than a year and never came accross any problem that I couldn't figure out the reason. UNTIL NOW!!

I was importing a tape into FCP and suddenly it stopped and warned - NO TIMECODE. the problem is that the tape has a good timecode and images recorded on it.

I tried to change tape, and suddenly all tapes don't playback, as if they had nothing. FCP keeps warning of no timecode, but even with the camera unpluged, nothing playsback.

Does anybody have any idea of the reason. I'm going crazy!

Are you recording to FCP from your DVX? you may want to try cleaning the heads and see if that helps.

Or.. if you have access to another camcorder, try it. Many here use cheap camcorders as our VCR's to keep wear & tear off our DVX's...
