I posted on the Vegas thread but all I received was the sound of crickets and that wouldn't be so bad if I had a gecko to feed them to LOL Anyway here is my issue since this does deal with the mkiii. While I'm editing on Vegas Pro 9.0 my footage (canon 5d mkiii) on my time line would suddenly go black no picture what so ever. I would still have sound but no picture When I go up to watch a clip in the explore window it would also have no picture only sound. I don't have this issue when I'm working with the P2 so it got to be something with the mkiii. Has anyone else had this problem?
 
I'm just dropping it onto my time line. Some of it works fine and some of it is a total nightmare. I wonder if it is Vegas 9 issue?
 
I'd get away from the H.264 codec. In on FCP so I go Prores but ask on a Vegas forum what the native editing codec.
 
Adobe products don't require you to transcode, in fact the best results usually come from working directly with the original files, but that's not always the case with different software...
 
I used to edit with Vegas and had similar problems when I installed other software which automaticatically updated my version of QuickTime. Not saying this is the reason for your particular problem, but I thought I'd mention it. Hope you get it sorted...
 
I think the problem is with Vegas 9.0. I re-edited the footage on my laptop using Vegas 11.0 and no issues. If I still want to use 9.0 I will have to get a software like I did with the P2 card.
