No one seems to mention Pannys small monitors?

Had the pleasure of working with a small panny monitor of this type alongside the camera (a previous model with the controls underneath)

We had two Panny 1700s on set also (one for client and another up near the camera for me and art dept). All of us were spoilt for choice when lighting, composing, focussing or operating and playing back to client was brilliant. The AF102 onboard was also excellent and performed flawlessly.

Amazing to have so many "matched" monitors in the same space.

Never hear anyone mention these little Panny monitors here but I thought it was awesome to work with. The features and functions...brilliant.

I love them too, but.... Its because they are so expensive. Its rare that much is mentioned here about higher end professional gear in general because most users here are indy type filmakers and don't have unlimited budgets, so people tend to get away with a $130 budget 10" hdmi monitor.

LH80 has a big limitation, no HD-SDI loop thru. The scope is coarse, off axis is not good. I prefer TV Logic and Flanders Scientific models--more for less. The 17" series Panasonic's look green to me. I was on a shoot yesterday and today and one of the two 1710's on set was flickering periodically. They are very well built though, great for rental.
