No-name replacement for P2 memory cards?

Hello everyone!

Is there a way to replace (original) P2 memory cards for the HVX200E with some generic, no-name replacement? I.e. a 32 GB compact flash memory card in an adapter, which will fit into the HVX200E?

I'd be very grateful for hints and people's experiences, trying this! Thanks!

At the moment, there are only Panasonic and Fujifilm P2 cards. They are pretty much the same price and same thing. However, Memorex is supposed to be releasing a new P2 card shortly that should be cheaper, but no price has been published so it maybe the same situation where FujiFilm P2's came out at the same price.

There isn't an adapter for 32gb compact flash that can work like that in the HVX...it may fit but it won't record to it.

If you are looking for an alternative to P2 you can check out the Focus Enhancement Firestore harddrives.

Best,

Thanks, Andy!

I can't see why a P2 card front part with all the connections in the right places, combined with a slot to insert CF cards, wouldn't do the job. Or why wouldn't it do the job???

I'm absolutely positive, that inside the P2, there's nothing but the memory chips that would make a high performing CF card! Right?

P.S. Since I'm not very experienced in this forum: Is it possible that replies to one's postings can get forwarded to one's registered e-mail address automatically?

This topic is VERY well-covered here at DVXuser. There's much more to it than just a couple of flash memory cards inside. Do a search; you'll find plenty of info.
