"No Desktop Video Resource"

Hi all... I'm at my wits end here. i can get Avid Pro to record sound from my dvx100 but video is another matter. i'm getting this strange error -- No Desktop Video Resource -- and there doesn't seem to be any documentation on the issue.

Has anyone run into this before? Is there a simple, nonexpensive solution?

HELP!

Re: "No Desktop Video Resource"

I'm on a PC - XP system, 512mg ram, 36gigsSCSI internal, oxygenGVX210 vid card, external 250gig drive.

i don't have a capture board. Could that be the problem? It seems to me Avid should still be able to capture from the camera through firewire... and i just got an SIIG firewire card, the one the Avid site says is supported.

Re: "No Desktop Video Resource"

I suspect it is your video card. It needs to support direct draw overlay v7.2 and later. I have never heard of that card. I receomend getting a nVidia card and you will also get realtime preview of 3D effects and Boris Effects uf you have it.
